Visitor Information
What Part of the Summit Should I Attend?
The Summit is an invitation-only event.
Please check the table of participation groups below and plan your visit accordingly.
You may also check your original invitation to the Summit, sent by c2csummit@lbl.gov or one of our team members; some exceptions may apply. If you have any questions, please email us.
Getting to and from the Summit
Shuttle Bus
Attendees have two shuttle options to get to the Summit:
Special Shuttle Bus for C2C Attendees. This Berkeley Lab bus will pick up in Downtown Berkeley outside Jupiter restaurant (2181 Shattuck Avenue–see map below), and drop off directly at Berkeley Lab Building 50, where the registration desk is located. The shuttle runs every 20-30 minutes during these windows:
July 18: 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM, 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM
July 19: 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Blue Uphill Shuttle Bus. Berkeley Lab’s regular Blue Uphill bus runs every 15 minutes from Downtown Berkeley and makes several stops en route to Berkeley Lab Building 50.
Boarding: Bring your valid ID (passport or U.S. driver’s license) and your visitor pass, which was emailed separately to you. You can print the email or use its QR code on your phone. Visitor passes will be emailed separately (the email may come from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory or “noreply@veoci.com”). Note, downtown shuttle stops are often shared with other transit agencies.
Leaving: Take the Blue Downhill shuttle from Building 50 to return to Downtown Berkeley.
Caution: Allow at least 30 minutes to get to campus if you are taking the shuttle. Traffic, and stops at the security gate are common. In addition, our bus drivers often forget to change their display from Blue Downhill to Blue Uphill when they reach Downtown Berkeley. Take any Berkeley Lab Blue Uphill or (mislabeled) Blue Downhill bus from Downtown Berkeley. Do not take a bus labeled anything other than Blue Uphill/Downhill unless you have time for an adventure.
Other Transportation
Parking: Berkeley Lab has very limited parking and does not grant parking access to Summit attendees (some exceptions are made based on need; contact c2csummit@lbl.gov). However, if you are staying at the Berkeley Lab Guest House overnight, you may park your car onsite in the Guest House parking lot.
Lyft, Uber, Taxi: You will need to present your visitor pass and valid ID (passport or U.S. driver’s license) at the security gate to enter the Lab.
Onsite Registration
When you arrive at Berkeley Lab, check in at the Summit registration desk in the lobby of Building 50, next to the Auditorium. If you are taking the C2C Shuttle from Downtown Berkeley, it will drop you off directly near the registration desk. There will be signage and staff to direct you to the desk.
What to Bring:
Form of valid government ID to check-in. If you are attending both days of the Summit, please check in each day at Building 50.
Business cards or contact information for networking sessions

Lab Tours Sign-Up
July 18 attendees (including keynote speakers, panelists, and cohort members) may sign up for one of three available Lab Tours, held concurrently between 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM Pacific:
FLEXLAB 10th Anniversary Celebration: https://flexlab.lbl.gov/
Molecular Foundry: https://foundry.lbl.gov/
Advanced Light Source: https://als.lbl.gov/
Sign up for a tour here. Tours have limited capacity and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. In the event of capacity issues, preference will be given to non-Berkeley Lab employees. Respondents will receive a confirmation message with more details about their tour before the Summit.
Mobility and accessibility note: Lab shuttle service will be offered 20 minutes before and 20 minutes after each Lab tour, enabling visitors to rejoin sessions quickly.
Accessibility
The Berkeley Lab accessibility webpage has a lot of useful information, including visiting the lab for people with limited mobility, the location of lactation rooms, and gender-inclusive restrooms (there is one in the Building 59 complex).
What to Wear
Most speakers, panelists and attendees dress business casual or how you'd dress if you're going into your office.
Remember to bring comfortable footwear (you'll do a fair amount of walking), and don't forget to bring a coat! It can get a little chilly in the Bay area.
